Rae Lynn Nettles, LPC/MFT, ND, therapist and consultant, grew up in a large family in suburban Georgia. She graduated from a small town high school and moved on to college to pursue her career path. She attended and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Psychology and minored in Rehabilitation Counseling. Again in 1995, she graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master of Education Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. She has also completed a Doctoral Degree in Naturopathy for Healthcare Professionals from Clayton College of Natural Health and is certified as a Master Herbalist and Iridologist. Her post-graduate training includes Etiotropic Trauma Management, Parallel Trauma Resolution for Crisis Managers, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). Ms. Nettles holds a license as a Professional Counselor and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. In 2001, she established a private practice in Middle Georgia and has relocated her practice to Savannah, Georgia. She uses an eclectic approach in her therapeutic services, pulling together different techniques, tools, theories and practices to best address her clients’ mental/behavioral/natural health needs.
Ms. Nettles’ professional experiences include serving as a Child and Adolescent Counselor for two community mental health centers in Northeast Georgia, and as a Supervising Therapist of 16+ staff with a private non-profit agency in Middle Georgia serving at-risk youth and families. Ms. Nettles serves as a Professional Consultant for the United States Military via providing therapeutic and psycho-educational support services (individual consultations and group presentations) for military personnel and their families in Georgia and throughout the United States. Her specialities include children with special needs, military culture, grief and trauma, and LGBT.
Ms. Nettles maintains active memberships in AAMFT/GAMFT (Georgia and American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists), LPCA and LPCA of GA (Licensed Professional Counselors Association and the Georgia Association), and APT/GAPT (National and Georgia Associations of Play Therapy). She is registered on the Prevent Child Abuse Georgia Referral Guide for approved providers. She is an approved IMPACT Trainer and completes home studies for interested foster/adoptive families in Georgia. She is also a Registered Counselor Supervisor for the Licensed Professional Counselors Association Registry of Supervisors. She is an approved trainer for the Bright From The Start Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning Georgia Child Care Training Approval System and is now providing a variety of informative and skill-building workshops for educational and child care professionals.
Ms. Nettles' combination of formal education in natural health and counseling with her variety of professional and personal experiences provide her with a unique, well-rounded, natural and very realistic approach to her therapeutic and consultation services. This approach provides the opportunity for those participating in services with her to experience "a better journey".
